Career
Chris Sarro was the first fighter from New England to sign a contract with the largest bare-knuckle organization in the world today, the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). He began his professional fighting career on September 7, 2019, in Orono, Maine, competing for the Lewiston, Maine-based Mixed Martial Arts promotion New England Fights. In his debut match, Sarro delivered a stunning knockout to the heavily favored veteran Ras Hylton (4-2) just 67 seconds into the first round, using a single counter right hand in their Cruiserweight co-main event. This remarkable victory catapulted him into the spotlight, and shortly afterward, he signed a multi-fight contract with BKFC.
Sarro made his promotional debut for BKFC on November 16, 2019, at BKFC 9: Lobov vs. Knight 2, where he faced John McAllister in a highly anticipated match that was broadcast live worldwide on pay-per-view. In a display of elite striking skills, Sarro knocked out McAllister with the very first punch he threw, earning him consideration for the promotion’s Knockout of the Year award in 2019. Following this impressive performance, Sarro’s notoriety grew significantly, with the video of his knockout reaching over 4.6 million views globally by May. His ability to finish fights in the first round quickly established him as a serious contender in the world of bare-knuckle boxing.
On July 24, 2020, Sarro continued his successful run by delivering another powerful performance in the squared circle, this time defeating Victor Jones—a veteran with over 60 fights—by landing a devastating overhand right that secured a first-round knockout. After participating in eight bare-knuckle bouts with two of the largest promotions, Sarro transitioned to professional boxing. He achieved a unanimous decision victory over Igor DaSilva and is now preparing to face 6’8″ heavyweight Serhii Sheludko (6-1, 3 KOs) on January 24th. Sarro’s impressive journey continues to elevate his status in the combat sports world.
